A World-Renowned Brand
Battista “Pinin” Farina established his eponymous company, Carozzeria Pininfarina, in 1930, in Turin, Italy. His goal: to focus on the design and detailing of luxury, limited-run supercars.
Since the 1930s, Pininfarina has steadily developed a global reputation for its distinctive high-end projects, adorned with a distinctive “Made in Italy” flourish.
IT BEGAN WITH AUTOMOBILES
During the 1930s, the Pininfarina built bodies for Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Cadillac, and Rolls Royce. In 1931, at the Concours d’Elegance at Villa d’Este, Pininfarina debuted their first special-edition car: the Lancia Dilambda.
In 1951 Pininfarina’s work was displayed at the Museum of Modern Art’s exclusive exhibition, “Eight Automobiles”. The elegant Cisitalia 202 Coupé – the car credited with establishing Pininfarina’s global reputation – is now permanently on display at the MoMA.
But perhaps most famously of all, Pininfarina has designed many of the most iconic, unforgettable models for Ferrari over the last 60 years.
